KATE KRIDER PAINTINGSSTACKED STONES SERIES 1998-2002
In an early series of oil paintings Kate Krider used stacked rocks along the Sandy River as inspiration. The rocks were balanced in columns and photographed as guides for use in the studio. The rock cairns became sentinels and guardians, spirit like beings, their timeless quality beautiful and mysterious against an ephemeral sky.
