| The drawings themselves are often quick sketches done on site which she later uses as inspiration or guidelines for oil paintings. The images are not strictly representational but rather impressions of place and culture that she has come to love. Krider doesn't strive to literally recreate a scene but to provide a sense of place and atmosphere. Colors are often enhanced from their true hues to acheive a more intense impression. Through her work, she is able to maintain an emotional connection to the culture of place and hopes to communicate some of the essence of that culture to the viewer. |
